"ANNIE" - Weetreeda Liddle Annie
Annie is our much-loved 4 year old Clydesdale Filly bred by Ian & Jeanette Hodgetts of Victoria. We fell in love with her the moment we laid eyes on her! She is a compact, cobby girl of 16.2hh, has the most gorgeous feminine head and amazing silky straight feather on her legs. Annie has a temperament to dream of and is always willing to please. She is super-inquisitive with a great work ethic!
Annie has been shown in-hand at All-Breeds, Agricultural & Royal Shows and is a lovely, honest representative of the breed! She was placed 1st in her Filly (3 & under) class at the 2010 Adelaide Royal Show and Won the Interstate Service Award & High Point Mare for the Commonwealth Clydesdale Society of South Australia for 2010/2011.
Annie (along with our boy Magnus) spent 7 months in Victoria in 2011, training for pairs harness with well-respected harness trainer John ("Patto") Patterson of Flemington, Melbourne. We had each individually driven horses in harness, but never a pair! A dream come true for Ben, who is so passionate about harness driving and has had harness horses since childhood. We were lucky enough to spend the last 2 days with Magnus and Annie in Melbourne at the completion of their training & it was incredible for Ben to experience driving our 2 horses together through trams and traffic down Union Street!! Holly spent the entire two-days with her eyes shut!!
All-new harness & 11-seater vis-a-vis carriage polished and ready...All set for our first horse-drawn Wedding of good friends Ali & Chris Woidt in Mannum, South Australia. Magnus & Annie were incredible and didn't falter... We were to pick up the Bride from the Resort atop the hill & take her and her Bridesmaids ACROSS THE FERRY to the church on the OTHER side of the wide Murray River!! This was the first time that horses had been across the river in over 30 years, so it was rather special for the town locals, with lots of Photographers to greet us on the other side! The day went brilliantly and our team from Malicloy were amazing...
